5 head of livestock killed in Brighton barn fire

BRIGHTON, Colo. — Five head of livestock were killed in a barn fire early Monday morning, Brighton Fire said.

Firefighters were dispatched to a grass fire at 1158 Weld County Road 23.5 northwest of Brighton just before 2 a.m.

When firefighters arrived, they found a barn fully engulfed.

Crews got the fire under control, but the barn was declared a total loss.
