DENVER -- Two men were shot and sent to a hospital after a shooting incident that started in Arapahoe County and ended in Denver, the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office said.

The chaos came to an end on Leetsdale Drive between Holly and Jersey streets about 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Denver Police Department cleared the scene around 8 p.m.

Deputies reported a confrontation on South Parker Road in Arapahoe County between the two victims and a third person. Investigators said the suspect shot at the victims while they were at that location.

The victims then drove away and the suspect followed them to Leetsdale Drive, according to detectives.

That's when deputies said the suspect shot at the victims again. The victims have nonlife-threatening injuries, the sheriff's office said.

The shooting turned into an hourslong on-scene investigation, causing traffic headaches during the afternoon rush.

The suspect is described as a heavy-set Hispanic male, weighing 230 pounds. He's bald and was wearing a bright green T-shirt. He's driving a hunter green sedan, possibly a 1990s Buick.

Anyone with information is asked to call 303-795-4711.
