PARKER, Colo. — Two homes next to each other caught fire in Parker on Friday night, South Metro Fire Rescue said.

Viewers could see the smoke in the 11800 block of Horseshoe Lane from several blocks away.

Firefighters helped people in one of the homes escape unharmed. No one was inside the other house.

Eighty-two firefighters responded with 25 fire trucks to the two-alarm fire. They wanted to make sure flames didn’t spread to any other homes.

South Metro Fire Rescue indicated the fire was under control and they were working on hot spots by 8:30 p.m.
