ADAMS COUNTY, Colo. — Two men were arrested Monday after Adams County deputies pulled them over for driving northbound in a southbound traffic lane of Federal Boulevard.

The driver pulled his truck over into the lawn of a local business after he noticed a deputy was behind him, according to the Adams County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said the driver attempted to exit the vehicle several times, but was too intoxicated to successfully remove himself from the truck.

The passenger of the truck was also intoxicated.

One deputy said the passenger was trying to remove items from his pockets, but kept dropping them — the contents of his pockets turned out to be stolen credit cards, mail and prescription drugs.

After further investigation of the truck, the two deputies on duty said the vehicle had a punched steering column, which led them to believe it was stolen.

Both the driver and the passenger were arrested and taken to jail.
