WELD COUNTY, Colo. -- A teenage driver lost control of his car on Highway 85 just south of Platteville on Wednesday night and rolled the car a few times, according to witnesses.
The accident happened about 7 p.m.
Matt Loftesness, who took the photos of the aftermath of the crash, said the vehicle came to a stop on its roof on the train tracks just as a freight train was approaching.
Colorado State Patrol troopers investigating the crash said the train side-swiped the car, dragging it down the tracks.
Loftesness said the train launched the car another 50 yards down the track, and it ended up on the wheels.
Amazingly, the 19-year-old driver walked away "completely uninjured," the Colorado State Patrol said.
