DENVER — The man police arrested after he was videotaped threatening and hitting people with a plastic pipe on the 16th Street Mall is scheduled to appear in court Friday morning.

Police arrested 32-year-old Clarence Seeley on Wednesday night for investigation of aggravated assault. No one was seriously injured.

The Denver Police Department is investigating the possibility that Seeley was also involved in a separate assault that occurred downtown before incident at 16th Street and Cleveland Place.

Police and the Downtown Denver Partnership are beefing up security patrols to combat increasing incidents of violence by young people hanging out on the mall.
