WESTMINSTER, Colo. — Investigators are searching for witnesses to a shooting during a marijuana deal on Saturday, the Westminster Police Department said.
Police were called out to a shooting int he 5700 block of West 92nd Avenue about 1:45 p.m., investigators said Thursday.
The 19-year-old victim told police he had arranged to sell marijuana to a 16-year-old male in the parking lot of the Madison Hill townhome complex.
The victim told police when he got to the parking lot, the suspect and another man, whose age wasn’t released, got into the 2005 black four-door Subaru Legacy.
Police said the 16-year-old then pulled out a gun to try to rob the victim.
After a struggle, the suspect got out of the car and shot the victim in the shoulder, police said. The victim drove home before calling police. The extent of the injuries to the victim was not released.
The 16-year-old is in custody on unknown charges.
Police are hoping there are witnesses to the shooting because it happened during the afternoon. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 303-658-4360.
