DENVER — A $12,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest in the Valentine’s Day homicide of Richard Hammond.

Investigators say Hammond, 63 left his home near Bruce Randolph Avenue and York Street between 3:30 a.m. and 4 a.m. for work with Falcon District 49.

He was found shot to death in his vehicle in an alley off East 37th Avenue between York and Gaylord streets, less than a half-mile from his house. His body was behind the wheel.

Authorities are asking anyone with information on Hammond or might have seen a vehicle similar to his 2012 Subaru Impreza in that area to contact Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867.
