LARIMER COUNTY, Colo. -- A 12-year-old boy told authorities that a man grabbed him in a wooded area west of Fort Collins on Tuesday night, the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office said.
It happened about 6:45 p.m. when the boy went looking for his siblings when he walked into a wooded area northeast of a field that is south of the railroad tracks near Boxelder Creek and west of the 200 block of Camino Del Mundo.
The boy told investigators that he saw someone behind a tree and assumed it was one of his siblings, but when he got closer, he said the man reached out and grabbed him.
The boy broke free and ran away. He suffered minor scratches to his wrist but was not seriously hurt.
The boy’s siblings did not encounter the man, who is described as white, 45 to 50 years old with messy and short black hair.
The man is unshaven with a salt-and-pepper chin-only goatee and no moustache, the sheriff's office said. The man was wearing a dirty, short-sleeved royal blue collared shirt and tan cargo pants.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office at 970-416-1985.
