EAGLE COUNTY, Colo. — An anonymous tipster lead sheriff’s deputies to a large marijuana grow in Eagle County, authorities said.

About 1,000 marijuana plants were found in a forested area on Cottonwood Pass Road near mile marker 14, said the Eagle County Sheriff’s Department.

There was an elaborate irrigation system and a campsite near the grow site, deputies said.

Deputies conducted surveillance on the site to see who would show up to check on the plants, but no one did.

Law enforcement then dug up the plants and destroyed them.
