I-70 reopens in Eagle County following closure due to wildfire

WOLCOTT, Colo. — Interstate 70 reopened in Eagle County Thursday night following a closure due to a wildfire.

The interstate was closed between exit 157 (Wolcott) and exit 167 (Avon). It was initially shut down in both directions.

The westbound lanes reopened about 6:45 p.m.

The eastbound lanes reopened shortly after 9 p.m.

Traffic was being diverted onto U.S. Highway 6.

Authorities have not yet provided details as to whether the fire damaged any structures.
