The Importance of Literacy

According to Denver’s Road to Reading initiative, children who do not read proficiently by the end of third grade are four times more likely to leave school without a diploma than proficient readers. From talking and reading to listening to music and playing a game, parent interaction is key to building a child’s literacy skills, and in turn, their readiness for school.

Dr. Sheryl Ziegler share some tips on how best to interact with your kids to maximize these literacy skills.
