Man in critical condition after being shot in Lakewood; no suspect in custody

LAKEWOOD, Colo. — A man was wounded after being shot on Thursday night, the Lakewood Police Department said.

Officers responded to the area of Sheridan Boulevard and West Fourth Avenue just before 6:30 p.m.

After arriving, officers found blood and shell casings but no victim. Police were then told a man was dropped off at a Lakewood-area hospital with an apparent gunshot wound.

Police are trying to identify an unknown man and woman who dropped off the victim at the hospital. It’s not known if they are suspects in the shooting.

The victim was listed in critical condition. His name and age weren’t released.

Police believe the shooting was an isolated incident and that there is no danger to the general public.
