Man hit, killed by light rail train in Aurora identified

AURORA, Colo. — Authorities have released the name of a 39-year-old pedestrian who was hit and killed by a light rail train in Aurora.

The Aurora Sentinel reports Mihreteab Gebremichael Okuba, an Eritrea native, was hit at the Peoria Station the evening of Jan. 16 and died at a nearby hospital. The Adams County coroner’s office did not release the cause or manner of Okuba’s death, which remains under investigation.

Police have not released any details about the circumstances of the death.
