Recycling plant fire sends smoke visible for miles

DENVER — A large fire that burned at a recycling plant in north Denver on Tuesday afternoon sent smoke visible for miles around the metro area.

The fire started around 12:30 p.m. at a plant at 4920 Washington St., which is near Interstate 25 and Interstate 70. No injuries have been reported, according to firefighters.

Officials say that traffic is also a concern around the area so alternative routes are advised.
