Parker police line I-25 as wounded officer is transported to Englewood hospital

PARKER, Colo. — Officers from the Parker Police Department lined Interstate 25 on Tuesday as a wounded Colorado Springs officer was transferred to Craig Hospital in Englewood for rehabilitation.

Colorado Springs police officer Cem Duzel left UCHealth Memorial Central Hospital and traveled to Englewood for further treatment.

Parker police said the lineup was meant to show “solidarity and strength” as the injured officer passed.

Duzel was shot in the head during a confrontation in Colorado Springs earlier this month.
