2 suspects dead after officer-involved shooting in southern Colorado

ALAMOSA, Colo. — Police say there has been an officer-involved shooting in southern Colorado. The Colorado State Patrol said the incident happened shortly after 10 a.m. Saturday on Colorado Highway 17 about 10 miles north of Alamosa.

Major George Dingfelder of the CSP tells the Valley Courier that no officer was injured in the shooting, but he declined to comment on whether anybody else was injured or detail the circumstances that led to the shooting.

No other details were immediately available.

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation is in charge of the investigation.
