Tornado touches down in Elbert County

ELBERT COUNTY, Colo. — A tornado touched down in Elbert County on Monday afternoon, the National Weather Service said.

It happened at 5:16 p.m. about 13 miles from Agate.

Before the confirmation, a storm chaser had spotted a brief cloud of dust near the funnel in an open field.

There have been no reports of damage as of Monday night.
