Man dies from self-inflicted gunshot wound after being found in Commerce City Walmart parking lot

COMMERCE CITY, Colo. — A man in a vehicle in a Walmart parking lot was found with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound and later died, the Commerce City Police Department said Tuesday.

An officer patrolling in the area saw a suspicious vehicle in the lot at East 60th Avenue and Dahlia Street just after 8 p.m., police said.

The officer found the lone male driver inside the vehicle suffering from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said.

The man was taken to University of Colorado Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The man’s name and age weren’t released.

Video from the parking lot outside of the store appeared to a show a vehicle that had damage from the incident.

Part of the parking lot was closed while police completed their investigation.
