State shuts down 2 metro Denver assisted living facilities

DENVER — Some Denver metro area assisted living patients are looking for new places to live.

State authorities shut down two facilities operated by Nurturing Care Home Assisted Living on Wednesday.

The health department said it was inspecting Nurturing Care Home because they were applying for a license when it found medical and safety violations that led to shutting down the two facilities. About 20 people were displaced according to state regulators.

The locations that were closed are Nurturing Care Home in Federal Heights and Nurturing Care Home Assisted Living at 6010 West Jewell Avenue in Lakewood.

Editor’s Note: An earlier version of this article stated that the state shut down all four assisted living homes operated by Prima Senior Living. We were given incorrect information on the case. We apologize for the error.
