Crews perform water rescue to save Clydesdale from icy pond in Elbert County

ELBERT COUNTY, Colo. — A video posted on the Elbert County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page shows the dramatic rescue of a Clydesdale that was stuck in a pond after falling through the ice.

The video shows deputies teaming up with a crew from Elizabeth Fire Rescue to pull the animal from the freezing cold water.

Although the horse struggled to gain footing after being pulled to land, it was not injured.
