3 injured in collision, fuel spill on I-25 south of Orchard Road

GREENWOOD VILLAGE, Colo. — Three people were injured in a crash involving a box truck on Interstate 25 south of Orchard Road on Wednesday night, South Metro Fire Rescue said.

The crash happened just before 7 p.m. when the truck hit a median and began leaking fuel.

The inner lanes on both sides of the highway were closed as a hazardous materials crew was brought in to clean up the spill.

The lanes reopened just after 10 p.m., the Colorado Department of Transportation said.

The names, ages and gender of the people taken to a hospital were not released. The extent of the injuries is not known.
