Man killed in northwest Denver shooting identified

DENVER — A man killed in a shooting in the early morning of Oct. 2 was identified Monday as 44-year-old Salvador Gallegos-Alvarado, the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner said.

The shooting happened at West 39th Avenue and Lipan Street in northwest Denver, the Denver Police Department said.

Gallegos-Alvarado was pronounced dead at the scene from a gunshot wound, according to officials. The manner of death is homicide and police continue to investigate.

No suspect information has been made available.
