Memorial held for transportation director found shot to death

DENVER — A school district transportation director who was found dead in his car was laid to rest Tuesday with full military honors.

Richard Hammond was shot and killed sometime early on Feb. 14 near his home in Denver while on his way to work in Falcon District 49 in El Paso County.

He left behind his wife, three children and two step children.

Police are still looking for a suspect who shot and killed him.
