2 shot in attempted burglary in southwest Denver

DENVER -- Two people were shot during an attempted burglary on Sunday night, the Denver Police Department said.

Two people returned home in the 500 block of South Sheridan Boulevard about 7:30 p.m. to find an open door, police said.

They were shot in unknown circumstances. They were taken to a hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries. Their names, ages and gender have not been released.

No suspect information has been released. The shootings occurred just inside Denver city limits.

Sheridan Boulevard was closed in both directions just south of Alameda Avenue as police investigated.
