Police respond to car crash, fatal shooting

DENVER — Police responded to a two-car crash Saturday that turned out to be more than just a vehicle collision.

The Denver Police Department said the crash in the 3100 block of West Kentucky Avenue, also involved a shooting. Police first tweeted about the incident about 3:30 p.m.

A male driver suffered gunshot wounds and collided with a parked car. Police later said the man died from his wounds.

No information regarding the identity of the man has been released.

A witness to the scene said the crash seemed to come out of nowhere.

“I didn’t hear anything. I just walked out and saw a large group of people and broken glass on the street,” the witness said.

Police closed the area between Irving and Federal to investigate.
