AURORA, Colo. -- There is a big need for soldiers who are being deployed from Fort Carson.

The FOX31 Problem Solvers' ongoing project Serving Those Who Serve is getting the word out about an apparent shortage of socks.

A local real estate broker is collecting donations of black socks for servicemen and women.

Mark Risley is partnering with the "Sock It To 'Em" campaign to collect 7,500 pairs of black socks now through Dec. 22.

"It's one of those things I think is easily overlooked. People don't think socks, people think coats, hats, mittens but I think socks and warm feet are just as important," Risley said.

You can drop off new black socks for the soldiers at Risley's office, 8Z Real Estate, 6180 S. Gun Club Road, Suite L-3 in Aurora.
