Mead home heavily damaged after explosion, fire

MEAD, Colo. — A single-family home suffered significant damage and a cat was killed after an explosion and fire Tuesday morning, Mountain View Fire Rescue said.

The incident in the 2500 block of Rosemary Lane happened before 10 a.m., officials said.

One cat was lost and another was saved. No injuries were reported, Mountain View Fire said.

Fire crews from Berthoud and Longmont assisted with Mountain View Fire in getting the fire under control.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
