SHERIDAN, Colo. -- A local man is offering some hope and comfort the homeless.

With help, he went from living on the streets to owning his own restaurant -- and now he's paying it forward.

Mariesse "Mo" Jones held a community outreach event in Sheridan outside of his restaurant, Anointed BBQ and Soul Food, on Sunday. The restaurant is located at 2504 W. Hampden Ave.

He gave away donated clothes, and invited local shelters and mental health counselors to share information about programs they offer.

This is the second time Jones has held an outreach day. The restaurant has been open three months and he feels more passionate than ever about giving back.
