DENVER — Nearly 6,000 families and senior citizens placed orders this year for the annual Daddy Bruce Thanksgiving meal distribution.

The Epworth Foundation, which carries on Daddy Bruce Randolph’s work, is in need of volunteers and donations to meet the orders.

The foundation said it needs about $100,000 by Thursday and 1,000 people to work two-hour shifts on Saturday for the distribution.

Each basket costs between $30 to $35 to produce. The foundation has only raised half of what it needs to meet the demand.

Volunteers are also needed to set the stage for distribution starting at 5 p.m. Friday.

Three city blocks near the Epworth Foundation (1865 Bruce Randolph Ave.) will be closed and an assembly stage will be set up for volunteers to pack food into boxes.
