DENVER -- Despite big spending in Colorado by both presidential candidates, the state was a solid win for Hillary Clinton.

Analysts said the blue-leaning trend at the top of the ticket turns a bit more purple further down the ballot.

Tuesday night was the third time in a row the majority of Colorado voters chose the Democratic Party presidential candidate.

David Flaherty with the Republican pollster Magellan Strategies said that's because the economy is doing well and because Colorado's growing population is getting younger.
