BERTHOUD, Colo. — The Larimer County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a man who reportedly tried to kidnap a 14-year-old girl in Berthoud on Friday.

The girl said she was standing on the sidewalk near Eighth Street and Hummingbird Place at about 7:30 p.m., waiting for a friend to pick her up.

She said a man came up to her from behind, grabbed her by the arm and pulled her into the street. She broke free and the man ran off, the sheriff’s office said.

The teen described the suspect as a white man, about 6-foot with a slender build and what appeared to be acne scars on his face. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with the hood up, brown dress pants and tennis shoes.

Deputies canvassed the area and brought in a K-9 to search for the suspect, but they didn’t find the man or any witnesses.

The teen met with a forensic sketch artist on Tuesday and investigators released the image Wednesday.

Anyone with information about this investigation is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 970-498-5167.
