LYONS, Colo. — The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office has an unusual mystery to solve.

They found an alpaca wandering around Lyons and can’t find the owners.

The alpaca was found on Indian Lookout Road, the sheriff’s office said in a tweet Tuesday evening.

Animal control officers believe the alpaca is a young female.

The sheriff’s office said it took about seven hours to corral her!

FOX31 Denver contacted the sheriff’s office Tuesday morning and they were still working to find the alpaca’s owner or owners.

The alpaca is at a local rescue until her owners come forward to claim her, the sheriff’s office said.
