THORNTON, Colo. -- Police continue to investigate the death of a 32-year-old mother in her home last week.

Crystal left behind a 3-year-old daughter, husband and large extended family. Her last name is not being used for safety reasons.

Less than a week after her death, family and friends gathered at her home on Ogden Court for a vigil Tuesday night.

"It's been absolutely devastating," friend Piper Hibbert said. "I've cried so many tears that I don't have anymore."

The vigil served as an opportunity for friends and family to mourn together, while also to search for answers.

"Justice for Crystal," Hibbert said. "We don't know what happened and the police aren't telling us."

The Thornton Police Department will only say it is being investigated as a suspicious death.

Crystal's loved ones said returning to the home was an important step in the mourning process.

"We don't necessarily know what happened here but this is her home," Hibbert said. "We want her family to feel safe, the community to feel safe. We want to take back the site."

Take back the site, while hoping the unknown comes to light.

"We believe something violent happened here and so we want to take it back," Hibbert said. "We don't want the criminals, if that's what happened, to have won. We want to take it back. It's a community, it's a home, it's her daughter and husband's home, we want that to be remembered as the home she built."
