One killed in stabbing at Brighton Halloween party; suspect at large

BRIGHTON, Colo. -- One person was killed after a stabbing at a Halloween party early Tuesday morning, the Brighton Police Department said.

A suspect is being sought in connection with the stabbing at a mobile home park in the 3000 block of East Bridge Street.

The party had been going on for some time when at some point a fight broke out and the victim was stabbed.

According to police, the man, in his late 20s or early 30s, suffered multiple wounds and was rushed into surgery at a hospital, but he was later pronounced dead.

Police from Brighton and Commerce City, and the Adams County Sheriff's Office immediately began to search for the suspect. A perimeter was set up in the wooded area around the mobile home park.

Police were looking for a blood trail, but the suspect has not been found.

Police have not released a description of the suspect. The identity of the victim has not been released.
