Vehicle plows into closed restaurant building in Denver

DENVER -- A vehicle slammed into a building in Denver on Thursday morning, the Denver Police Department said.

The crash happened just before 7 a.m. at East 17th Avenue and Downing Street.

The vehicle got nearly all the way into the building that previously was occupied by Argyll Whisky Beer. The building suffered extensive damage.

The restaurant closed in May after being open for two years. The building was previously occupied by Las Margaritas for 25 years.

There is no word if the driver or any passengers were injured. No other vehicles appeared to be involved in the incident.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
