DENVER -- Pennies being left around 10 major cities -- including Denver -- as part of a promotion by Ally Financial could be worth $1,000.

There are 100 "lucky pennies," with 10 in each of the major cities across the county.

Anyone who finds the penny will receive a cash prize of $1,000.

According to the Daily Mail, 10 coins were placed in Denver; Austin, Texas; Charlotte, N.C.; Chicago; Detroit; Miami; Los Angeles; New York; San Diego; and Washington.

The coins are slightly larger than regular pennies. There is an Ally Financial logo on one side and "100,000 cents" on the other.

The clues to find them are on Ally's social media pages and at AllyLuckyPenny.com.
