Woman killed in hit-and-run on I-25 near Speer

DENVER — A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Interstate 25 near 23rd Avenue early Wednesday morning, the Denver Police Department said.

Police said a vehicle hit a woman about 1 a.m. and fled the scene.

The northbound lanes of I-25 were closed for about two hours as police investigated.

Roads were wet at the time of the accident, police said.

The name and age of the woman have not been released.

Police have not released a description of the vehicle that left the scene.
