Lakewood police detectives are investigating the death of a 23-year-old man that occurred Monday afternoon at commercial indoor firearms shooting and training range.

Just before 4:00 p.m., Lakewood agents responded to the shooting range in the 12100 block of West Cedar Avenue after receiving calls indicating a customer had shot himself.

When agents arrived they found Eric Earl Blake in the shooting range.

Blake had sustained what detectives believe to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Blake was pronounced dead on scene.

Although from Texas, Blake had been living in the Denver area.

Several other customers who were on scene were interviewed by detectives.

Even though the investigation continues, detectives do not feel anything criminal in nature was involved in Blake’s death.
