Man with dementia reported missing from Northglenn found safe

NORTHGLENN, Colo. — A 69-year-old man with dementia who was reported missing Tuesday night was found safe Wednesday night the Northglenn Police Department said.

Perry Yamashita of Las Vegas was visiting Northglenn when he left a residence near West 104th Avenue and Huron Street about 9 p.m. and did not return, police said.

Yamashita grew up in the area.

Yamashita is “friendly with strangers and police officers, and often times asks people for directions,” police said.

He is described as an Asian male, 5-foot-9 and 160 pounds. He has salt and pepper hair with black hair and brown eyes.

He was last seen wearing a blue shirt with a white sweater, blue jeans and tennis shoes.
