JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. -- The search is on for a man who attempted to abduct a 14-year-old girl on Friday in Jefferson County.

Investigators have released a sketch of the suspect who has a very distinctive look, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said.

The 14-year-old girl told investigators she was walking southbound on Sheridan Boulevard near West 60th Avenue when a man in a silver SUV started following her. She said it might have been a Honda or a Chevrolet.

The girl said she was near the bus stop at West 53rd Avenue when the driver stopped and tried to force her into the vehicle. She was able to fight him off and ran. Her school bus driver then called authorities.

She described the man as Hispanic, about 5-foot-3, with dark, medium-length hair. He was wearing a gray T-shirt, gray jeans and glasses.

The sketch shows the suspect with a distinctive haircut. He appears to have a half-shaven head.

Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff's office.
