The 3rd Annual Japanese Kite Festival will take place on Saturday, Oct 1 and Sunday, Oct 2 at Central Park in Stapleton.

The two-day event will feature two Japanese kite-making workshops on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.; and a Japanese Kite Flying Festival with Colorado Kite Master Scott Skinner and Edo Kite Master Mikio Toki on Sunday, Oct 2, from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. There is a $5/participant charge for the kite-making workshop and due to space limitations, registration is required. The workshop will take place at the Central Park Recreation Center in Stapleton (9651 E. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., 80238). The kite flying festival on Sunday is free to all ages and will be near the Denver Pavilion at Central Park just off Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.
