COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Agents with the Drug Enforcement Agency seized about 22,000 pounds of marijuana at illegal grows in five southeast Colorado counties on Wednesday.

The DEA served 13 warrants in Otero, Crowley, Bent, El Paso and Pueblo counties. The DEA said the people involved in the raids are from southeast Asia, KRDO reported.

The illegal marijuana was being shipped to Texas and Arkansas, and the DEA believes it was tied to one large criminal organization. The DEA said 12 homes were used just to grow the marijuana. One home in Boone had about 300 plants.

Several people were detained but there have been no arrests. The DEA said the 22,000 pounds of marijuana will be destroyed.
