BeMyDD app sends driver to take you home in your own car

DENVER -- If you’ve had too much to drink, and you don’t have a sober driver, it’s always best to call for a ride and leave your car behind. But now you might not have to.

An app called BeMyDD will send a driver to pick you up and drive you home in your car. Their main selling point is you don't have to leave your Lincoln in the lurch.

"You're worried about vandalism, you're worried about parking.  You have to wake up feeling groggy.  You got to figure out how to get your car home," said Justin Monteleone of

“Pickup Service” is available in Denver for $25 plus $3.45 a mile.

A 15-mile trip on Uber will cost around $56. The same trip with will be around $77. But, unlike Uber, your beloved Buick is back home with you, where it belongs.

It might seem like a lot of extra money to spend on a night out, but it beats driving down DUI lane. Also, customers and their vehicles are insured for comprehensive and collision.

“BeMyDD also carries a $2 million commercial auto insurance policy that covers its customers' vehicles and rental cars if a BeMyDD referred driver is ever at fault,” the website said.

“When you make a reservation, you can request specific driver attributes, including ‘male,’ ‘female,’ or ‘non-smoker.’”

The company also conducts extensive background checks on all its drivers.

The company also offers Event Services -- "teams of drivers to get your guest and their cars home from your party, wedding, corporate event, or other large gathering where you have an open bar or where alcohol is being consumed." That runs $45 to $53 per team, per hour.

BeMyDD also offers Personal Driver Service. For $14 to $19.95 an hour, you can "hire a driver to chauffeur you wherever you need to go, no matter how many stops you need to make."

The BeMyDD app is available for Apple and Android devices.
