COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — An Air Force colonel facing a court-martial for rape and adultery was found dead in his home near Peterson Air Force Base on Sunday, KRDO areported.

Col. Eugene Marcus Caughey, 46, was facing a court-martial in October. Air Force officials did not provide any additional information about the cause of death.

“According to charging documents filed by the Air Force in December, Caughey raped one woman as he held her against the wall and floor, groped women on two other occasions, and violated an order from a two-star general to stay away from another victim,” the Washington Post reported.

Caughey also was charged with six counts of adultery, the Post reported. Caughey’s most recent assignment was with the Air Force Space Command at Peterson Air Force Base.

The alleged crimes happened at Schriever Air Force Base, according to the Associated Press.
