EUGENE, Ore. — It was a big day for the University of Colorado as the Buffaloes held on to beat Oregon, 41-38, on Saturday.

It was the Buffaloes’ first victory over the Ducks since joining the Pac-12 Conference in 2011.

The game marked CU quarterback Steven Montez’s first career start. He threw for 333 yards and three touchdowns.

The Buffaloes led from the start of the game to 33-17 in the second half, only for the Ducks to rally and take the lead.

Colorado went back ahead and the Ducks were driving late in the fourth quarter when Ahkello Witherspoon intercepted Dakota Prukop’s pass to Darren Carrington in the end zone to seal the win.
