Lost hiker in Jefferson County located, in contact with searchers

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. — Emergency workers found a hiker who went missing about 6:45 p.m. Friday.

A spokesman for the Evergreen Fire Department said a woman texted her husband to say she had fallen and she was hurt.

He called authorities, who put the efforts in motion to launch the search. Crews found the woman and they were working to rescue her on the north side of Interstate 70 near the Chief Hosa exit.

Searchers said they were yelling for her and she has yelled back.

There were more thanĀ 40 searchers from several agencies looking for the woman, who is described as being in her mid- to late 20s.
