One arrested after leading chase in stolen truck

DENVER -- One person was arrested after leading police on a chase in a stolen truck on Wednesday morning, the Denver Police Department said.

Police were called late Tuesday night to Newton Street and West 13th Avenue on a report of a suspicious vehicle in the area.

When officers arrived, the driver took off in the pickup truck. Police pursued but the driver was able to get away.

The vehicle was seen on U.S. 36 less than an hour later and multiple agencies responded.

The driver then stopped and was taken into custody at West 54th Avenue and Columbine Road.

Police said the truck had been stolen on Tuesday night.

The name of the suspect has not been released.
