DENVER -- Two people were arrested after shots were fired in a west Denver neighborhood early Wednesday morning, the Denver Police Department said.

Police said the incident happened in the 1300 block of Newton Street and might have been drug related.

Police said the driver of a vehicle was arrested without incident, but a passenger fled on foot.

A police dog was brought in and was able to find the passenger, who was taken into custody.

The names, ages and genders of the suspects were not released.

Police said the incident is not related to suspect who led law enforcement on a chase in a stolen vehicle. The suspicious truck was reported in the same area, at Newton Street and West 13th Avenue.
