DENVER -- A United Airlines flight rolled off the taxiway and into a grassy area at Denver International Airport on Sunday night.

United Flight 296 was scheduled to depart DIA just after 7 p.m. for Reno, Nev., on runway 7/25, but the plane's brakes went out and it rolled off the runway.

Mike Higdon, a reporter with the Reno Gazette Journal who was on board the plane, live tweeted the incident. He said the plane did an "emergency reverse engines" to keep the plane from going into a ditch.

There were no injuries to passengers and crew, who were bused back to the terminal and put on another flight for Reno.

The runway was closed, but it did not cause a significant impact on operations, an airport spokesman said.
